Past Life Information: This French-Canadian hottie contains multitudes. His parents were killed in a car crash and, when adopted, he was separated from his twin sister Jeanne-Marie. Later, because life loves irony, his adopted parents were also killed in an accident, so, off he went to foster homes. Jean-Paul was a jumble of emotions: trying to deal with his life trauma and confusing feelings with a little light stealing and shenanigans. This speedster has always had too much energy. First he was like, I'll be an acrobat! Then he was all, I'll join a political separatist cell (bad move: they were terrorists). He's gay and stubborn as fuck and better than you and he's prickly and he definitely does NOT have a heart of gold, thank you very much. Maybe for his sister. He had Olympic medals for skiing until he was stripped of them just for being a mutant (come on!!!). After that: he was recruited to join Canada's pre-eminent superhero team, Alpha Flight (don't laugh). He found his sister (his traumatized, beloved sister), struggled to get along with the team, adopted a baby who died very young, and finally came out publicly: the first superhero to do so.
Suddenly this bitch was THAT BITCH. He quit superhero-ing, published a memoir, and was a public figure of some real interest, performing HIV/AIDS activism and being generally excellent. Of course, because he's that bitch, he ended up being recruited for everyone's favourite soap opera superhero team, the X-Men. He was like, k, I'm just gonna teach your mutant students, but he's a REALLY good superhero, so he was brought in time and time again to elevate their teams. It did not always end well. Actually, sometimes it was awful. He's seen some shit. He's suffered, a lot. Also, imagine this whole time he's trying to either find his sister, heal his sister, find love (and get rebuffed by like, every closet case mutant), and also just like LIVE, you know? After the dying-and-being -resurrected-and-brainwashed thing (fuck!!!), he and his sister started their own Extreme Sports company. Fuck skiing, now he's a snowboarder! It was awesome and he was great at it, obviously. He met his future husband (!!!). He also had to go BACK to the X-Men AGAIN because he's just so GOOD at being a superhero and they were like, Northstar, we need you! And he was like, FINE.
BUT. After getting married, he went home to Canada with his husband and settled in for a good life of OKAY he joined Alpha Flight again but whatever he's not a sucker for fighting evil at all.
Also, he has these cute pixie pointed ears. It's important to me that you know that.

Personality: Seth doesn't suffer fools lightly, but he sure as hell is a fool for those he loves. (Which is like, a select group of people). He is impatient and sometimes rude, but also sometimes has the most impeccable manners you've ever seen. He answers fan mail thoughtfully when it's from sweet gay youths. From there, he was able to get new representation and some roles in sensitive indie dramas, including one about a gay man in the 80s -- the perfect platform with which to come out. He hasn't even remotely hit it big, but he's known by gays and theater gays (an important niche fanbase). He's just been cast in a new sci-fi show that shoots in New Orleans, and people are predicting that it's going to hit big. A few years on a cool genre show could mean bigger movie roles for Seth, and he really wants that.
